FAQ
Using a slip ring ensures continuous 360° rotation without the risk of cable twisting or wear. In addition to improving system reliability, it ensures stable transmission of power, signals, and data, reducing machine downtime and maintenance interventions. The availability of different configurations also allows the slip ring to be adapted to numerous industrial applications, helping to improve overall machine performance and service life.
Slip rings can simultaneously transmit electrical power, analog and digital signals, fieldbus, and high-speed data, maintaining a stable connection during continuous rotation. In more advanced applications, dedicated channels for high-speed data transmission can also be integrated, with solutions designed to reduce interference and electrical noise, ensuring high signal quality even in complex operating conditions.
Through-bore slip rings are used in applications such as packaging machines, industrial robots, rotary tables, wind turbines, and automation systems that require shafts, cables, pneumatic tubing, or hydraulic lines to pass through the axis of rotation.
The central bore allows mechanical components to be integrated directly within the machine axis, simplifying the design layout and enabling simultaneous transmission of power, signals, and data during continuous rotation.
Available customizations for through-bore slip rings include: bore diameter, number of circuits, flanges, cable length, signal types, communication protocols, contact materials, protection rating, housing, and mounting options to adapt the component to the machine.
