Harmonic gears have three components: the Flexible Gear, the Rigid Gear, and the Wave Generator.
The flexible gear can be of the “cup” or “hat” form and meshes directly into the Rigid Gear. Motion is generated by the Wave generator, which typically represents the input of the fast shaft, usually consisting of the motor shaft. The variety of available models characterizes HAN’s harmonic gearboxes. Depending on the degree of integration, it can be supplied as individual components or fitted with a bearing and, for some models, a through shaft. Harmonic gears are characterized by compactness and a very high degree of precision. Typical applications are industrial robots, machining centers, and medical machines for rehabilitation and diagnostics.
