Servotecnica, a global leader in motion control technology, has expanded its slip ring engineering capabilities to better support applications operating under extreme operating conditions.
By advancing its in-house environmental qualification capability, Servotecnica can now design, validate, and deliver custom slip ring solutions for even more extreme low- and high-temperature environments with shorter development and qualification lead times.
The expanded qualification capability supports temperature testing from –50°C to +180°C, with controlled thermal ramp rates and humidity levels from 10% to 98% relative humidity. This allows Servotecnica’s engineering teams to evaluate slip ring performance under cold-start conditions, sustained high-temperature operation, and combined temperature-humidity profiles that more closely mirror exact real-world operating environments.
This in-house approach enables faster iteration on custom slip ring designs, including material selection, sealing strategies, cable assemblies, and internal mechanical tolerances. It also removes the scheduling and logistical constraints typically associated with external test facilities, allowing Servotecnica to qualify special units more efficiently while maintaining full engineering oversight throughout the testing process.
Servotecnica already offers low-temperature slip ring options within its standard product portfolio. The enhanced internal qualification capability further strengthens the company’s ability to develop application-specific variants with defined temperature envelopes, tailored validation profiles, and reduced time-to-deployment.
“Environmental conditions are often the limiting factor in slip ring performance,” said Matteo Salgarello, CEO of Servotecnica. at Servotecnica. “By bringing extreme temperature and climate qualification in-house, we can validate designs earlier, iterate faster, and deliver custom solutions with greater predictability for our customers.”
