In planetary gearboxes, the drive shaft is bound to the central pinion called the sun gear, which is located in the center of the gearbox. The sun gear transmits motion to gears called planets or satellites; these are attached, by pins, to a satellite holder and rotate within ‘a toothed crown gear located on the outer surface of the gearbox. The number of satellite holders represents the stages of the gearbox. The last satellite holder is connected to the output shaft. Planetary gearboxes are characterized by high efficiency, high precision, low inertia, and compactness.
Servotecnica’s range of planetary gearboxes covers a range from 10mm in diameter up to 42mm and can be assembled with our range of micromotors.
Our range of gearboxes is easy to customize.
